Early detection is key to a positive outcome with any type of cancer. We are proud to offer in-office VELScope oral cancer screening as part of our dental exam. It is a non-invasive method of screening that shines a green light on the oral tissues. Not all oral cancers are visible to the naked eye. The VELScope light is absorbed differently between cancerous areas and normal tissues so we can visually see a difference. If there is a positive test, further investigation will be carried out.
